Into The Wild Journal Entry
I couldn't seem to put the book down once I began to read it. I was instantly fascinated with the mind of this young man. What would cause someone to do this? Burn their money, leave everyone, and go live in the arctic. Chris McCandless mind worked in a very interesting way. He was very stubborn and wanted things to go his way. Just like plenty of people do, but with him there seemed to be something different. Once he had his mind set on something, there was no telling him otherwise. Although he met so many kind people and they offered him quite a few things that would've helped him survive, he refused to accept them. You don't see that very often these days. It's more take, take, take, instead of give.
The people who were able to meet Chris (Alex) were lucky people. I think it would have been a great experience to meet someone like him. Even if it were for only ten minutes, I'm sure he could've made an impact on your life. I mean, how many people can convince an old man to give up everything and live with no money, or appliances? Not many. You'd have to be very persuasive and persistent to get that to happen. Not only would it be interesting to meet someone like that, but I believe it would be rather entertaining too.
